Learn about Budock’s history and heritage…

A photograph of a granite stile in Budock Water taken as part of the Budock Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Come and join local archaeologist Pete Dudley record the granite stiles of Budock as part of the Parish Neighbourhood Plan.

The stiles form an important part of the Parish’s landscape, footpaths and byways and we need your help to record each one. It is also an opportunity to learn how archaeologists record features and interpret the landscape. Pete will be on hand to talk through the different shape and sizes of the stiles as well as help you to spot reused architectural fragments and stone-splitting techniques. The morning will make an important contribution to mapping the small, often under-valued, aspects of the Parish’s heritage which can often be over-looked in planning decisions.

Recording will take the form of photography and straightforward note taking – all done at a leisurely and easy going pace. Please you the contact form on the website to register your interest or post a comment on the Budock Neighbourhood Development Plan’s Facebook page.
